Having been raised as a “military brat” I became fascinated at an early age with the cultures I experienced. The social aspect of my early years drew me to explore my artistic abilities, to incorporate and develop a love for pageantry and creativity. For the last 30 years I have owned and operated gifts shops, one in particular centered on angels -The House of Angels in Fresno, California. I found I was drawn more to the joy of seeing my customers delight when I would offer creative ideas for their events so I moved on to open a full service event planning and decorating entity -Xpress Yourself Event Design & Décor in 1984 in the Tower District.
As an event planner for private social events, non-profit organizations and cooperate events, I ensure that every aspect of the event and the final product is achieved seamlessly with professionalism and care to every detail. I meet with clients, conceive ideas, organize, and execute special affairs, capturing the purpose, message or impressions the client/organization is trying to achieve. I execute all details relating to a variety of meeting formats, including seminars, conferences, trade shows, conventions, weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, spa openings, birthday and anniversary celebrations, and furnishing rental items from our extensive prop warehouse. My set designs, construction, and interior/exterior designs, floral arranging are all incorporated into an event’s design.
After a free initial consultation I help the client to develop a personalized theme, formulate their plans, and organize their event in every detail, recommending experienced sub vendors that would be needed to execute their design elements. I work closely with professional and licensed vendors, and am able to select the best service or product at the best price, always keeping within proposed budgets.
Once a client has selected a venue, a walk-through of the site is performed taking, pictures, measuring the space, then CAD design the venue to the specific needs of the client. I suggest best suited treatments for the event which will have all the amenities the client requested. As the project manager on site, I keep a close eye on time management, design, budget and sub-vendors to insure there are no budget overruns. From conception to fabrication, installation whether hanging pipe and drape, table center pieces, floral arrangements, draping, entertainment, DJ’s., photographer, lighting effects, audio-visual equipment or balloon treatments. I remain on premises during the event to trouble shot any unforeseen problems that may arise. I supervise the removal of décor and restore the site to its original condition.

Lynda our Ninth Annual Renaissance Faire for scholars turned out to be a marvelous event this year! Lynda we can not begin to tell you how beautiful and elegant the decorations were for our 50th class reunion at Pardini's.
You outdid yourself, the balloons, table cloths, table napkins, glass trumpet vases, etc... and the bar arrangement were so beautifully done. The room was magical and elegant, we couldn't have asked for more, even my husband, who really doesn't say much or pay much attention to room decorations told everyone how beautiful and elegant it was.
